About Ray

Ray Schreyer is currently Program Manager for IBM Global Interactive Recruitment Branding

Ray began his HR career at First Union National Bank, where he pioneered the use of the Internet for recruiting in the early 90's. He later became a content provider to America Online's Career Center and served as the Director of New Business for Monster.com.

While working at Monster.com, he was challenged by a client (Little & Associates) to re-enter the corporate arena to lead a major expansion effort. As Director of Employment for Little & Associates, he doubled the size of the organization and eliminated the need of outside agency support for staffing.

In 2001, Ray was one of the founders of the non-profit, DirectEmployers Association and served as Association President for the first five years of critical organizational growth. During his tenure, the Association founded the Internet's first employment search engine, partnered with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) to found the NACELink College Recruiting Platform, and most recently partnered with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) to develop the JobCentral National Labor Exchange - a replacement for America's Job Bank. Ray's current duties at IBM involve developing online strategies to connect top industry talent with IBM Global opportunities. Ray is passionate about working with his colleagues in industry and government to move Internet recruiting to the next level; to form an efficient online labor marketplace that is trusted by jobseekers and cost-effective for employers.

Ray is co-author of three books: 'The Employer's Guide to Recruiting on the Internet', 'Recruit and Retain the Best', and 'The Best 100 Websites for HR Professionals'.

He received his Masters training in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of North Carolina and his Bachelors in Chemistry from Elmhurst College. He currently resides in Wesley Chapel, NC.

Ray speaks authoritatively on the topics of Internet recruiting and the challenges faced by corporations in migrating to new media and recruitment platforms.
